Caffiene is neuroprotective in several animal models of neurodegeneration. Regular coffee (caffinated) consumption is associated with lower risks of Parkinsons disease, suicide as well as type II diabetes. Coffee consumption is also linked with lower rates of certain cancers. Caffiene has antidepressant effects in animal models of depression. The beta carbolines in coffee are monoamine oxidase inhibitors. Plus, I just enjoy it.
