I just recently went back up to 75mg. I'm starting over after being washed out for five or six weeks for hip replacement. I take 30mg in the morning and 45mg at night. I have tried all different combinations, it does not seem to really matter to my system.I was going to use the 5 week wash out for another medication trial (45+ failed combinations). Nardil always works when I come back to it. If I had half a brain, I just would never go off the stuff. I have 3 bothersome side effects. Weight gain, insomnia, and delayed or absent orgasm. In combination with clonazepam, my memory and word finding suffers.
I wish I could get away with adding a mild stimulant or dopamine agonist. My GP won't do it, but if I could get a PDOC to do it, then he would probably continue it. I know stimulants and MAOIs are dicey, but a lot of people do it. Just something to slam back that last bit of dysthymia and lack of motivation. I was a highly motivated person before major depression and major medications. Depression runs in both sides of my family. I remember rushing to become financially secure before the first major hit at 40 years of age. I could feel it coming! Almost made it, but not quite.
Sorry, I'm rambling.
Take care,
