I was thinking this to be a possibility also. It is hard to know, though. Emerging from depression can be an epiphanic experience. Also, there is the tendency for Nardil to produce euphoria initially. Reduced need for sleep is often a more objective index - 4 hours of less. This shouldn't be confused with insomnia where someone does not feel rested sleeping so few hours. When I was manic, I felt okay sleeping only 3 hours. I am always surprised when someone who is manic reports needing 8 hours of sleep. It does happen, though.
