least interfering muscle relaxant

Hey,
I see my pcp Wed. and want to know if anyone can recommend one? Maybe just to take at night as needed.
A quick search just now reveals that they are potentially problematic--with cognitive and mood affects?
I've taken xanax ir for muscle relaxation (minimally ) the past few days for a flare up. I'm not very confident self-treating, and I don't want to rock my boat.
