Hi everyone,
Here's my story. My old pdoc retired last year. I was taking Nardil at one time under him, and have recently started again after washing off of Prozac. So I'm looking for a pdoc that is comfortable prescribing it.
I had an appointment with one a few days ago. She's willing to prescribe the Nardil, but she obviously isn't familiar with it at all. She told me that I couldn't eat bananas while I was on it; when I told her it was banana peels, she didn't really believe me. This was based on something she'd just printed out off the internet. She gave me a copy, which I stuffed in with my papers, and when I pulled it out later, I read "banana" on one line, "peels" on the next.
She also told me that Nardil is a category C drug, which means that I CAN'T EVER get pregnant if I go on it. That's not exactly what the 'C' means, but maybe she was just trying to simplify it and/or scare me off?
I don't have a lot of confidence in this one, but I feel like my options are limited. Should I just stick with her because she'll prescribe the Nardil? At what point does this become "doctor-shopping"?
