Terrell State Hospital..just look it up. It's an older psychiatric hospital that's been around since 1885, which oringally was for the insane, but things where modified in the later future of Texas's mental health act's to help mental illness. It..i didnt go through the hospital but it was very large, and had alot of abandoned psych unit's that where intresting to see but they don't allow people in there, only staff personel for special use.
The doctor was...she asked me why the heck did you drive 75miles out here when there's other hospital's. I said...i researched this hospital and I thought it would be a good place because it's got alot of experience over the years. It wasa an insane asylum but they changed that term in 1925 to "mental health hospital's" and had more research for treating it as time has passed and cases are recorded and medication has came out. She told me "you are 22, you are living like a teenager, you need to start from there and move out like most 18 years olds have, and your mother shouldnt have access to your medical records" we'll that's parahrasing but...that's basically what was told to me.
Anyway's...it's nice to know there is somewhere to go but once they have determined that you have to stay due to medical reasons, it's no telling when your going to be released.
Though this was intresting today...but my parent's got really pissed and said a "institution??" are your crazy? we'll that's what it's there for...
Anyway's it's intresting to see older treatment psychiatry still in use, but it's a bit harsh.
:)
