Hi. A responsible pdoc won't mess with success.One approach is to get a few months' worth of prescriptions from your current doctor, giving you time to try his colleague. If you do not like his colleague, then you will have enough meds to give you time to find someone else.
When I moved to another state, my pdoc did phone sessions with me for a few months while I looked for a new one. It took 3 tries, but I found someone who is working out. We've tweaked dosages to try to deal with side effects, but he did not try to completely remake my meds since we know they work.
