I had terrible anxiety at one time in my life, and the only things it would respond to were vigorous exercise and alcohol. I had valium at the time, and it did not work. Unfortunately, the effects of exercise did not last long.
Exercise is definitely a help with anxiety, though, at least while you're doing it and immediately after, when you're still tired.
