People seem to react to nortriptyline differently. I remember when I first tried it, I slept all day. However, that effect dissipated quickly, and it has no such effect on me now. I prefer to maintain my blood levels of nortriptyline steady. It really isn't necessary, though. Parnate is a different story. Many people cannot tolerate taking Parnate too late in the day, otherwise it disturbs their sleep. Splitting the dosage of Parnate so that your last dose is taken no later than 3:00pm usually prevents this from happening.
