Hi,
I've been on 15 mg Adderall XR (taken once in AM) for ~ 3 years, taking 5 days/week & usually not on Sat. or Sun. Although the med seems to have worked well, I've never been comfortable with the following: my HR is ~15-17 BPM higher during the 6-8 hour period during which the med is most active (~84 vs. 67) ; my BP is somewhat higher; and the difference in my physical / mental / emotional states when med is active vs. when it's not (mostly weekends, when most/all of med is out of system) is very noticeable (to me - I live alone). So, I asked Dr. to lower dose to 10 mg/day (staying on Adderall XR). I've now been on new dose for ~ 2 weeks, & it's really addressed all of the above concerns. In making this change, I've found it helpful to focus on how much med helps (at this dose) vs. not being on med (answer: it helps significantly); and whether this is the best risk/benefit ratio dose (I think it is, for me). Lowest effective dose is important with this med, I think.
Hope this helps ...
