I think the biggest challenges in the treatment of severe depressive disorders is teasing apart the antidepressant and euphoriant effects of certain promising agents.

Many of the drugs they pull like amineptine and nomifenasine are due (at least in part) to potential for addiction. Yet, these agents were particularly effective in certain groups of severly depressed individuals.

Triple reuptake inhibitors....or prescription cocaine? You be the judge.
