That is a tough situation. Did the extra anxiety come without any change it meds? Do you take the long acting Xanax? Do you know if Paxil has been the best SSRI for your anxiety? Has their been any hormone changes?
I can sympathize with some anxiety about being alone at home, or having to go home alone.
I have always been depressed but didn't really suffer from bad anxiety. But after a trial of Emsam & then going off, I developed extreme anxiety that was miserable. I had no idea anxiety could be that painful. My body would wake up at 5:30 every morning no matter what time I went to bed. And I would run to try & get the anxious energy out- didn't work. I wasn't anxious about anything, my body was just in that mode. I even went to the hospital for a couple of days. I think what helped was increasing my long-acting Xanax to 2mg and Celexa. And sometimes I wonder if part of it was that I tried to balance my hormones w/ bc. (which can also make it worse). I read that progesterone is the calming one. But you never know what messing w/ your hormones can do.
I don't have that anxiety any more. I think over time my body made some adjustments. I no longer take the bc, but I am still on 2mg of Xanax & have the short acting ones if I need them (although I don't use them).
I would probably try increasing your Paxil. I don't know much about Buspar, but it doesn't sound like its good for you if it is making you feel crazy. Maybe you could start to add/replace Celexa or some other SSRI if you haven't tried them. I am so sorry for your pain, that is serious stuff.
