In reply to Emsam 12 mg. patches no longer being made?, posted by lunksmoo on September 5, 2009, at 11:53:08
> I just went to my pharmacy after putting in an online order for the 12 mg. patches of Emsam. This morning the pharmacist told me they are no longer making the 12 mg. patch, and they were going to call my doctor. So now what am I going to do, use 2 - 6 mg. patches a day? 6 mg. patches were $120/month copay on my insurance a few months ago, so is it going to cost me $240 a month now? The 12 mg. patches were a $134 copay. Great.
Sometimes an ethical pharmacist will charge you the same as the price of a 12 mg patch. Your script calls for 12 mg. They do not have that strenth but 2 6 mg will do the trick. So you should be charged for a 12 mg patch!! Tell him that is not your fault that they don't have them in stock.
