To Scott - Question On Nortriptyline With Parnate

Posted by bulldog2 on August 1, 2009, at 14:59:04

I took parnate for two months and discontinued it because of lack of response. Each time I increased a dose I had a few days of response than a poop out. Well maybe poopout is the wrong word. Each dose increase was a few days of mild euphoria followed by just okay. Maybe I was not depressed but did not have that I can't wait to get out of bed feeling and really want to do things.

Anyhow was thinking of giving parnate a try again. I think its a med that is a good base but needs a good add on.
I've tried nortriptyline in the past and think it may be a good add on.
Would add on from the beginning as I titrate parnate up.

Anyhow these are my questions. I generally titrate parnate up 10 mg every two weeks. Would I be better off titrating the parnate up 10 mg every three weeks to make sure I gave the parnate enough time to work. What type of schedule should I use with the nortriptyline? I don't plan to go past 50 mg of nortriptyline. I don't want sides of weight gain etc.
