Seroquel irritability at a low dose

Posted by jrbecker76 on April 27, 2009, at 22:56:10

I'm new to the Seroquel party line. So far, it hasn't been that welcoming. I've tried 12.5-25 mg for a week or so. Have only one side effect but it sure is a doozy... bad irritability and anger.

My original intention was to use it as a low-dose augmentor to replace Nefazodone and Rozerem for sleep and mood stability. However, the Seroquel is definitely not going to work out at this dosage level due to the anger issue. It somewhat reminds me of my experiences with Reboxetine, so perhaps it's the NE reuptake synergizing with the cymbalta i take. Pdoc thinks its an antihistaminergic reaction, but i'm doubtful of the accuracy of that assessment.

Two questions i have...

i) has anybody found that any irritability/anger issues were balanced out when ramping up to higher doses?

thinking of shooting for 75 - 100 mg

ii) i'm currently taking IR version. has XR shown to be a considerable difference to some?

Thanks in advance for the input.

JB
