Fentanyl+Desoxyn would be a much better choice than ECT (in terms of both safety and effectiveness), but you won't in a million years get a doctor to prescribe that to you for depression (not his fault -- he would at the very least be putting his license at risk).Your best bet is probably to "augment" a traditional antidepressant with a CNS stimulant and/or benzodiazepine. You could also try Provigil+Xanax (modafinil and alprazolam, respectively) if none of the traditional ADs are tolerable/effective.
