Hi Bulldog.
> 1. Did you ever have high bp problems with parnate?
I have had no spontaneous hypertensive issues. I did have one tyramine reaction to pepperoni. It included the classic severe headache with the sensation of pounding at the base of the skull behind the neck.
> 2. Did you have insomnia with parnate?
I never had insomnia with Parnate monotherapy. Nor did I ever respond to monotherapy. It was only when desipramine was added for the very first time did severe insomnia result. I eventually reached full remission on that treatment.
> ...how did you bring it under control?
I used Halcion (triazolam) combined with Ativan (lorazepam). I don't remember the dosages. I don't think there is a drug better than Halcion to knock you out, except, perhaps for the barbiturates. Ativan was added to prevent rebound awakenings and improve sleep maintenance. It worked great. I hadn't been sleeping at all prior. I had total insomnia.
