I can't take anything but Seroquel because of EPS -- I'm very sensitive now to neuroleptics, especially with an affective disorder.
Seroquel "worked" for about 5 1/2 years and then everything fell apart when I got scared and depressed -- needn't go back to that time but I was really worse off than now even though I think I can't get back there.
Abilify if I recall I thought would be a wonder because of its D2/-D2 action but it was just as akathisia making as Geodon.I already have two movement disorders as it is, so naturally you can see my hesitation of anything but the least cumulative impacting on my body.
A rare non-tardive orobuccal tic with vocalizations and probable TDy (tardive dystonia) in my legs (arms too, but legs hurt more) from one month of Zyprexa where I had stiffness as EPS, it didn't go away. Seroquel and Valium are probably covering it, I don't know.I'm overweight so the dystonia in my feet is compounded by osteoarthritis.
I hope I can lose the weight that I gained with Seroquel, its so hard to control my intake, and exercise is hard because of multiple things that the Seroquel is not covering now, including distractions, audio and visual so I don't know if I can go back to the gym.
But I'm going on, I didn't mean to make this a whole downer, its just reality, or how I feel anyhow.
I want to overcome it and have my dream of hiking and biking back again. I used to be avid at both.
There's a 10,000 foot mountain that I always wanted to climb, I've done part of it years ago.
Anyhow -- that's enough for now, unless someone is interested in my ramblings....
