Help, replace EMSAM with Pristiq?/same as Effexor?

Hi all,

I just got a new Rx for Pristiq. I'm hesitating on this because when I tried Effexor years ago it made me feel all spacy, jumpy and weird, could never get up to a clinically effective dose...had to discontinue.

How different is Pristiq in its action, side effects, time to work, etc compared to Effexor?

Also, this Pristiq will replace EMSAM (which I washed out of) as my antidepressant. Does that make sense? Do they have similar modes of action or something?

(Yes, I'm scared.)

Any help greatly appreciated!
