I thought it seemed a little paradoxical because the anticonvulsant (trileptal) would slow down the excitatory aspects of the brain, while Ritalin LA would speed it up right? I'm inattentive, and had good results with Ritalin alone, but still had racing thoughts after my work day was over.

Doesn't racing thoughts exhibit some form of OC spectrum or am I missing the feeling? Because its natural for them to take over again if you're not concentrating and you have OCD.

Trileptal is a mood stabilizer, it doesn't necessarily slow things down, if it works, its supposed to balance things, I would think.

Of course not all AEDs are cut from the same mold for sure.
