In reply to Info from people who know nefazadone please, posted by dapper on October 29, 2008, at 16:59:33
I took nefazodone for almost 10 years and out of all the prescription AD's I tried, this was the most tolerable for me.
I made me sleep very well, I took my whole dose at bedtime and it would usually knock me cold within about 45 mins. It seems strange that it kept you up, maybe its the interaction of the new drug and tapering off the Lexapro ( I hated Lexapro by the way). The side effects I noticed when I would start Nefazodone were: hard to get up in the morning, felt kind of spacy/drowsy during the day, also if I stayed up very long after I took it, I would feel very nauseated.
All of these would go away within about a week and half usually.
Although it was not extremely effective for depression, it was great for anxiety, sleeping, and the fact that it lacks sexual side effects is very rare in an AD.
I would give it a bit more time and not make any judgments on how you react until you get the Lexapro out of your system.
