It is NOT easy or straight forward. I'm going to recommend that you take a look at:
Navigate to "Disorders" on the left pane and look at the European Definition.
Something not mentioned is that with true OCD, there is great inner tension (anxiety) that can only be relieved when a person allows themselves to follow through with the intrusive thought or compulsive behavior.
Perhaps you could be more specific in your description after reading through the website I referred to.
Which emerged first, the depression or the obsessional thinking? Sometimes, this can be an important indicator.
