The link was just a reply to the question about affinity for Tesofensine.
Although there also should be some quiet compelling preclinical data there suggest using Tesofensine as an anti depressant, it will not be developed in that direction. The focus is on obesity and possible also type 2 diabetes. But it is still 3-4 years from the marked.
NS2359/GSK372475 on the other hand is developed for depression. And it works more or less in a similar way as Tesofensine by altering the 3 neurotransmitters dopamine, serotonin and noradrenaline. The affinity for NS2359 is
Dopamine 8nm
Noradrenaline 0,6nm
Serotonin 5nmGlaxoSmithKline plans to start several large phase 3 depression trials with NS2359/GSK372475 in the middle of 09. And they think that this new mechanism will be the next new big anti depression drug class and thereby overtake the SSRI class. Only time will show if thats true.
