Hi Crotale,
> Out of curiosity...any chance Stablon, or something similar (i.e., a new serotonin transporter agonist), is ever going to become available in the US?

Vela pharm, before being bought by a bigger pharma corp which I can't remember the name, intented to seek the FDA approval of Tianeptine for asthma. This was in 2006 and no news since.. They seem to focus on another molecule and don't talk of Tianeptine anymore. I guess it means we can virtually forget about it. BTW, there's no such thing as "Serotonin Transporter Agonist" since, in part, because SERT isn't a receptor. Tinapetine is considered by some to increase the Vmax of the SERT (can move 'more/faster' 5-HT molecule) ... but some other scientists doesn't agree with that saying that Tianeptine doesn't produce is 'enhanced recapture" by interacting with SERT but by another indirect mechanism.

In many countries including France, UK, India (that I can remember). Servier is the only maker; no generic. If you see another pharma corp name on a web site/box it should be "Sardia" which is a subdivision of Servier in India. In ~Feb 2007 a french magazine about pharmacology reported that there were NO counterfeit of Tianeptine./\/\arty
