To clarify, I am quitting Cymbalta because it has what I consider an unacceptable risk profile with long term use. However, Cymbalta worked fantastically well for me. Best AD I've ever used!

This is how I would rank the ADs in my short-list:

Safety, from safest to least safe:

* citalopram
* sertraline
* fuoxetine
* venlafaxine

Effectiveness, from most to least:

* venlafaxine
* sertraline
* fluoxetine
* citalopram

I'm thinking I might go with Zoloft. OTOH my understanding is that duloxetine was developed using fluoxetine as a template, so Prozac might be a good choice considering how well Cymbalta worked for me.

Any thoughts?
