I did have a seizure once... no previous history of them. other circumstances contributed to it-- I took two doses too close together and hadn't slept for two days. is there any reason I really shouldn't take it anymore? do seizures have any long term effects? it was a little scary at first, but after that it wasn't that big of a deal.

Are you taking Wellbutrin original (which is scarcely prescribed because of this problem) or SR/XR ? The extended release formats I would say are more than patent extenders, they actually reduce seizure rates.
But if you are prone to seizures, and it is possible but not that common with Wellbutrin at medium doses (the higher the dose probably the more likely it -could-, and I say -could- because while it is definitely mentioned in the literature it isn't a guaranteed thing at all), maybe it isn't the drug for you.Or you might be able to combine it with say 1mg of Klonopin or some AED if you get a lot of value out of it.
I just reread your posting -- yes, if you haven't slept for several days and you took the doses right next to each other you probably definitely increased your chance of seizure potential, at least in my non medical school opinion. Its probably better to skip a dose than to take it too close, but ask your doctor.
