Ultram (Tramadol) for Anxiety and Depression

Posted by Mike_Cohen_2 on June 23, 2008, at 14:59:26

First, I have read many posts within and outside of Psychobabble where people have had great success with Ultram for both Anxiety and Depression. The debate seems to be "Addiction". And, they say it is similar to Effexor which I've never tried. I couldn't tolerate Wellbutrin and Zoloft at the same time, so I don't know if trying Effexor is even worth a try. However, I know from the past before all of this anxiety crap started that Narcotics work well for me. They give me a lift and of course euphoria and just make me feel good.

I am so sick of playing lab rat to my psychiatrist and being an RN, I can get my hands on Ultram through one of my doc. friends.

All of these meds are addicting, and from what I read there doesn't seem to be a tolerance issue for the people that use Ultram. It's a class 4 drug. Works on Serotonin and Norepi like Effexor. Also from what I've read, if you don't have past opiate addiction problems than you should be fine taking it and that also you don't get the Euphoria that you get from other narcotics.

If I had anxiety and depression, which I do, and added one more ailment such as a bad constant soar back, which I don't, I could have this prescribed and probably feel better. In fact this is how people have found out that Ultram has made them feel better from their anxiety and depression.

Pain is pain, whether it's physical or psychological. You have to taper off all the meds that are considered psychotrophic as they "ARE" addicting. Not trying to raise a debate here, but I guess my underlying question is this:

Does Ultram really, truly, work ?
