I was nauseated and after having the coffee I had severe diarrhea. I felt like crap all day. Diarrhea, nausea and low blood pressure. I only took two Nardil that day. I was afraid to take more.

> Then today it got worse. I went to bed last night at 9 (exhausted) went right to sleep and woke up at 1:30. I got up drank one cup of coffee, decided I couldn't make it. My blood pressure was even lower than Sunday. Again with the nausea and diarrhea. At 2:15 I took 1.5mg Xanax and went back to sleep from 3:30 to 5 when Iwoke again with extremely low blood pressure and nausea.

Also I thought it ought to be another med than the trazadone I've been using since trazadone can lower blood pressure and causes me to wake up with a hangover if I don't get 8 hours. AGain I took only 2 Nardil today.

> Something is suddenly very, very wrong. I called my pdoc and he called me in some Ambien. I asked what could be going on and he said perhaps an interaction between the Nardil and the Geodon I take since Geodon has some 5ht raising properties. But wouldn't that make my blood pressure higher not lower? And why would it start overnight?

> I am scared to death. I am scared of taking only 30mg of Nardil - pdoc said "but aren't you feeling more depressed?" when I told him I had lowered the dose? But I can't go on with this low blood pressure/nausea/waking up at 3 every morning. I don't know what to do.

> MarshaHi Marsha!
I too take an MAOI (EMSAM) along with Geodon and Trazadone. I had similar hypotensive reactions as I was ramping up my EMSAM dose. It took an almost life ending fall (woke up in an ICU with CPR bruises on my chest!)down the stairs at home- face first for my psychiatrist to demand that I get a new Internist (I hated my previous one who wrote off everything I had to say as due to "anxiety and depression" and missed all kinds of things like a huge parathyroid tumor, heart disease and diabetes to name a few....). My Psychiatrist referred me to an excellent Internist who immediately put me on Florinef 0.1mg every morning. It's a form of a steroid- fludrocortisone is the generic name- and even for people like me who happen to have underlying hypertension, it works really well and completely diminished my nausea, headaches and feelings of faintness within a couple of days if I remember correectly. Has anyone mnentioned that to you?
Best of luck, Marsha.
