Hi,
I've been on Nardil for most of the last eleven years. I've stopped four times for other med trials because of the Nardil side effects; mostly weight gain and delayed orgasm. Each time I've quit my major depression has returned.A lot of people get that initial rush on Nardil, which is probably a touch of hypomania. It felt good to me after being depressed for so long. However, this is not the true antidepressant affect of Nardil. Think back to just how lousy you felt before you started the medication. I use 2mg of clonazepam with 90mg of Nardil, because I have social anxiety along with my atypical depression. I would like to add modafinal but my MD hasn't gone for that yet. I'm in pretty much full remission except for some residual dysthymia which I have lived with for 35 years.
I have tried more than 45 combinations of ADs and augmentors. Nardil is the only thing that has worked for me. Baring some scientific breakthrough, I will be on Nardil for the rest of my life.
Good luck,
Jedi
> I'm relatively new to Nardil. First few weeks I felt nothing, then it kicked it for a month or so and gave me some of the greatest days of my life!!! But now my depression is starting to creep back in (I'm about 2 to 2.5 months into taking my effective dose of 75mg of nardil).
