It's best to use it as soon as you wake up. If you work nights, then use it when you wake up, before work.
Some folks have tried it in the evenings or before bedtime and it also works, although the studies conducted on light therapy show the best efficacy is achieved when you use it as soon as you would normally awaken.
I hope you can try it and let us know how you are doing. I'm going to start it again tomorrow morning for 30 minutes and see how I feel.
