In reply to Is Ixel useful for anxiety??, posted by Maria3667 on January 30, 2008, at 5:24:23
Hi, Maria - I've just finished my 1st week on Ixel and I can echo Bleauberry's observation that it seems to help with social anxiety - I am much chattier this week, with strangers as well as co-workers. But I'm also just happier, so that could be it as well.
Definitely the NE stimulation is STRONG on Ixel. My appetite is somewhat surpressed, I sweat a bit more than I used to when I exert myself, my heart sometimes seems to beat fast, standing up fast can make me a bit dizzy. Feels much like the early effects of wellbutrin (but happier), and like the wellbutrin I expect those side effects to pass. So if those sorts of physical effects nudge you into anxiousness, stay away from the Ixel.
However, unlike the wellbutrin, with Ixel I am sleeping GREAT, GREAT, GREAT and my emotional state is calm and content. So if your anxiousness is more triggered by emotions or lack of sleep, the Ixel might be perfect for you. Certainly worth a try, as it works within days and so you'll have your answer in days!
