> Congratulations, if that's the appropriate word.
~~~ I believe it is and I thank you for the congrats.
>The norepinephrine effect you refer to, does that aggravate anxiety by any chance? As I understand it, Effexor only affects norepine at higher dosages, beyond what I was on.
~~~ It did for me. I can't deny that, at the time, I wasn't struggling with a huge case of med phobia. The slightest of untoward effects and I would ditch something. I had not developed the: "get thur the getting thur" at the time.
>I find it curious how when I've begun Lex/Celexa at normal starting dosages, I've had aggravated anxiety/insomnia for what I believe is an abnormal length of time(3 to 4 weeks), whereas on Effexor I hardly noticed anything. Don't these meds both have similar activity?~~~ They do on the serotonin effect. Lex or Celexa shouldn't effect on the norepi reuptake inhibition to any big degree. However, I known alot of folks to have an upramp of anxiety and general "heebee geebee's" with SSRI startup from the shakeup and change in chemistry.
> I'm torn between continuing with Celexa at this time, or dropping it for Effexor which I dumped about 8 months ago for some odd reason. I had gone down to about .125 mg's daily Klonopin with the Effexor, but felt a lack of confidence to continue. Perhaps that was the reason for dropping it. Maybe the lack of confidence was psychologically and not pharmacologically related.
>~~~ (Smile)... tough call but maybe think about continuing the Celexa for a few more weeks, if possible. Things very well could iron out.
> Anyways, good luck with your treatment progress.~~~ And very good luck back to you.
