My understanding is that prolactin release is always set to ON, and dopamine acts as a governor to that, keeping it from running uncontrolled all the time. Therefore, lowering dopamine (what receptors, what areas Im not as clear on) would raise prolactin; some, such as Parlodel, lower prolactin. I have naturally high prolactin, so take Parlodel to get it back under control.
