I was on Parnate in the past, and it is working for me again now. Someone suggested talking to an anesthesiologist to see what that person has to say about going off Parnate. My experience is that some will say yes, and some will say no. They just can't give you certain things. My pdoc at the time is the one who told me I did not have to go off the Parnate.
When I had surgery in the mid 80's and was on Parnate, I had to get off it for two weeks before. It was awful; I sank into a deep depression, but as soon as I got back on the Parnate, after a couple of weeks, I was back to being better again.
