Parnate and surgery

I'm currently at 20 mg and would like to increase again as I'm not happy with the results so far at 20..

I'm booked for surgery on Sept. 12 and my pdoc told me I have to go off it two weeks prior to my operation.

My questions are:

Should I stay at the same dose and feel kinda crappy until I have to go off it before surgery..it will be easier to go off, I would think, going from 20 mg than 30..

Does anyone know what the chances are it will not work again for me once I have the surgery and restart it? I've had that happen with SSRI's when I've tried to go back on, but not sure about MAOI's..
