i AGREE To an extent, normaly you should if you stay on it begin to actualy know the medication, its feel, its onset, when it slighly interacts as well as just many different aspects.
When you can truly say you feel comfortable with the drug, you no longer fear it,you can begin to slowly test the restrictions, some people are ultra sensative to almost all, some just the opposite, while some fall somewhere in the middle.
I have not changed my diet much while at the same time i know soy sauce is my definate NO NO food.
Im not saying this to be a idea now,as the first poster is right in the respect that while you begin treat it with all the respect it requires, rather to give you some encouragment that much later down the line you wont neccassarly have to live some extremely limited life.
One thing that does stink is the limitation on otc drugs which are dangerous,i.e nyquil and the like,BUT ODDLY enough, lol i feel my maoi actualy has kept me from getting common sickness.Go figure.Any read as many archived boards as u can, here and on google groups, just try to know as much as u feel u need, good luck.
