Cats as you know are nocturnal animals. My two cats sleep at night now, but when things are fairly smoth. Your cat is likely responding to your anxieties and the anticipated change of location, etc, etc. They sense quite a bit and do get stressed when they recognize change is to occur or when it occurs. When I am going through added stresses, my male cat starts yowling at 3 or 4 a.m. and settles down when I take him into bed and cuddle him. Then he goes back to sleep. I might not be able to go back to sleep, but at least it's quiet.
