Nardil for Social Anxiety / extreme panic attacks

Posted by guy_uk on May 25, 2007, at 9:21:10

Hi Folks

I've been taking Diazepam (Valium) and an SRRI (Fluvoxamine) for debilitating Social Anxiety / panic attacks for about 10 years but my tolerance to Diazepam has increased so much that I am wondering about Nardil.

I understand about the insomnia/weight gain/diet restrictions but have heard that Nardil is incredibly effective otherwise. I need something that has the calming effect of Diazepam together with treating the reactive depression that the Fluvoxamine treats.

Psychological therapy has helped up to a point but not enough.

One of my worries is that I understand the "recipe" for Nardil changed a few years back, so I am not sure if it is still as effective as it people have said it used to be.

I would be so grateful if anyone can offer advice / feedback of any kind?

Many thanks
Guy
