Hi Cynthia,
Yes, enjoy this new you for as long as you can. When my daughter was on Dilaudid for a jaw surgery and she was having funky, funny dreams every night because of the narcotic, I told her to enjoy them while she had the chance. Lol.
You may never have had a bad case of social phobia, but something has been holding you back for some time. I have severe social phobia, and now I'm on Effecor XR 300 mg for a few months (with 2 other meds). It DOES make a difference. I'm not AS nervous to show myself in public in the daylight!! Heaven forbid!! I like to not be noticed (I don't know why), but I LOVE people!! So even though my social phobia is probably only a tad better than it was before the Effexor XR, I feel better about myself and I think it will just be a process of taking little bits of control over more and more of my life....and I think the Effexor XR will play a big part in that. As well, I sometimes can get very social on these forums and groups that I belong to on the internet....and then I go dead quiet for some time. But again, I think that is the Effexor XR helping me to peck a little crack in my shell. It doesn't happen overnight.
So enjoy what you are going through now. It might fade in and out, and while you're "in" the outgoing state, you should really try to acclimate yourself to it so it's a bit easier to get back to that state again. Good luck!!!!
God bless,
Sandy
