Hopefully, it will last forever, but whether it does or doesn't, you definitely should enjoy it now. And build on it, if possible. Use your new, more outgoing personality to enlarge your circle of friends so you continue to have people in your life who enjoy what you enjoy. It sounds like you previously suffered from social phobia without even recognizing it. You may be one of those people who thrive on mixing and being out amongst people but whose generally reticent personality has blocked them from realizing what their preferences actually are. Now that you do know, go for it.
