Try to bear with the Nardil sleepiness. Sleep disruption (whether insomnia or hypersomnia) is common when starting MAOIs. For most people, the problem disappears in 4 to 6 weeks.
Typically antihistamines make you sleepy, not wakeful. And it's not antihistamines you have to worry about with Nardil (and other MAOIs), it's decongestants (like pseudophed). People often get confused about this because you're warned not to take cold medications. But that's because cold medications generally have both antihistamines and decongestants in them. Decongestants are ABSOLUTELY OFF LIMITS!
> I'm just coming up to 2 weeks on Nardil 15mg 3 times per day. I must admit I feel groggy and sedated, esp in the morning. Does anyone know if this goes away, or if there is anything that takes it away (eg Periactin)? Someone posted a warning about taking some antihistamines with Nardil, but I wasn't clear if this included Periactin. Can some knowledgeable person please help?

People at work expecting unreasonable things (cos their work's more important than other people's); my wife who deserted me when I was very sick; people who tout cures that don't work. So not manic, merely hypomanic, but dysphoria is not a nice state
