> I was taking Lyrica 300 mgs. bid, my GP told me we have to reduce it to 300mgs. a day, he said at 600 a day it may cause liver Damage. Is this true? What sucks is that Lyrica at 300 bid works beautifully for anxiety. At 300 a day i feel no help from the drug.

I can't explain your doctor's concerns. Lyrica is almost completely devoid of liver interaction, with the major liver metabolite constituting less than 1% of the total drug excreted. Total liver interaction is thought to be less than 2%. There is no FDA warning. There isn't even a restriction or contraindication noted for those with known liver disease. Nothing in the monograph, except a notation in the uncommon side effects list of increased liver enzymes. Nothing in Pubmed. I think he may have made a mistake. Absent demonstrated increases in liver enzymes in your body....or did you have those?
