In reply to SINEQUAN (DOXEPIN) IS DISCONTINUED!!!, posted by starfox on March 17, 2007, at 6:47:56
Most all TCAs are probably discontinued or are going to be discontinued by their manufacturer, considering the first one, Tofranil (a huh ? would probably come up for even the brand name -- its imipramine), was marketed around 1958.
They've been generic and have been so for some time. My mother has been using generic doxepin for ages for angioedema allergies -- its the only or one of few agents that strongly covers H1 and H2. Watson and Mylan makes generic doxepin in the US.
I think you're referring to an issue in NHS and Commonwealth marketing territories. It is true that Pfizer discontinued it, but there was to be an agreement that Marlborough Pharmaceuticals was to manufacture the tablets.
