I had searched around and there aren't references to it being used as Zantac has been used; on the other hand oppositely, Zantac has been used in acute allergies.

It has been used for a more rare disorder called mastocystis.So the answer is, you would have to ask your allergist, but I believe Zantac et alia are more targeted towards stomach secretion.
