Hi Guys,
I've been on clonazepam for most of the last ten years. I've just increased my dosage from 1mg to 2mg daily because of my switch from Nardil to Parnate. My high dosage of Nardil had a large effect on GABA. Clonazepam also affects GABA, thus the dosage increase.I've quit clonazepam several times in the past ten years. Unlike some people on this board weaning off meds is not a problem for me. I guess I just don't have a predisposition to addicition. However, if the medication works and provides relief, I see no reason to stop it. You have to make a decision if the benefits of the med outweigh the side effects.
I expect to be on a MAOI the rest of my life. I just hope the Parnate will work this time, because of the weight gain brought on by high dosage Nardil. As long as clonazepam keeps working for my anxiety, I expect to be on it forever, also.
Good Luck,
Jedi
