I have been on Nardil since April of 2005, and it is nearly as effective now as it was when I first started it, of course discounting that first week of glorious "hypomania". A few months ago, I had to raise the dose to 120mg/day from 90mg/day. I am happy to say that since dropping buprenorphine, I have negligable sexual side effects from the drug.
It can often take eight months or more for this to remit, though.Currently, I take 60mg at bedtime and 30mg at noon and 6PM along with 15mg dextroamphetamine tid. With addition of the d-amphetamine, my libido is far better than it is drug-free. This is a woefully underused combination that I have yet to see produce even the mildest untoward effect in me, let alone a hypertensive crisis.
Sleep is the big problem now; it takes over 20mg ambien to put me out, and then I can't wake up. 30mg+ of temazepam does nothing. I think it's time for chloral hydrate or barbiturates, but as liberal as my doctor is, i.e. extremely, I don't know if secobarbital is on the list of things he's willing to try ...
