In reply to Ruminations, furious anger, tantrums – please help, posted by jimmygold70 on December 29, 2006, at 9:45:41
I have the exact same problem. I can't reccomend a medicinal fix for you, but there are some anger management techniques that seem to help me a lot. I have gotten good at recognizing when I am blowing things out of proportion. Sure, I might have a right to be angry, but tantrums don't solve anything. Once I realize that I am obsessing or ruminating about what is making me angry, I try to remove myself from the situation, physically or mentally. Video games, books, magazines, or just a quick chill out minute. I hope this helps.
> I got my Zyprexa dose lower and I now get what I had before it (not a withdrawal symptom). My father has it too.
> I lose my temper after minor offences – I mean, things that would piss anyone but, hey, there is a matter of degree. It also travels through my mind all the time and I find it hard to concentrate on anything else. And I get those tantrums at my 'offender'. Took 1 MG of Xanax and it helped a bit. I'm looking for other solutions. Anyone with a similar experience?
