Good luck with round 2. I've never taken Parnate, though I do take Nardil. You definitely don't want nardil with IC, since Nardil can cause urinary retention.About the cystic acne...I never had that as a SE, but I occasionaly get one. They're awful. My sis had good luck by taking a low dose of Doxycycline for about a year. There are risks to that of course, and I don't know if it's okay to take with Parnate, but it helped her skin a great deal. I think a dermatologist prescribed it.
As far as blackheads, etc. you may have to switch your skin care regimen to something that targets acne and oilier skin, if you haven't already. I use Clinique products, and their oily skin stuff is pretty good. If you wanted to go so far as anti-acne stuff, I think I'd recommend something other than Clinique. Their stuff is more expensive than many of the better drug-store brands, and it's really not any better, imo. For blackheads specifically, I use a clay-based mask about once a week when they are at the worst. This seems to really clean out the pores, and it also helps with oil.
My pdoc never gave me nifidipene. She said the research was too mixed about whether it helps, and instead suggested an ER if I were to have a crisis. But she hit hard on following the restrictions in order NOT to have a crisis. I've done just fine without it, but I know others here do carry it.
I do have a medic alert bracelet, just in case, and it mentions that I might be having a HTN crisis, to clue in any emergency worker if I can't tell them myself. I also have a printed card, business card sized, that has my diet restrictions on it. I use this at restaurants.
