There's little you can do to prevent Remeron induced weight gain since much of it seems to be due to fluid retention. I wonder if a herbal diuretic preparation would help - one aimed at reducing premenstrual fluid retention perhaps?

Many people also get the munchies on Remeron and have cravings for high carb/fatty foods like chocolate and ice-cream. There's not much you could do about this other than practice self-discipline, exercise and perhaps asking the pdoc to add a morning stimulant such as Adderall to the Remeron.
