and has Effexor won. But I've also been prescribed Lyrica now. Effexor and Cymbalta have an equal effect on norepinephrine, Effexor also works on additionally on serotonin and on dopamine. I find 150mg of Effexor activating; 30 and 60 mg of Cymbalta put me to sleep midday. I also take 1mg clonazepam. That's my benzo of choice with Effexor. I hope I've helped.

NE reuptake inhibition ++
5-HT reuptake inhibition ++

Effexor XR
cyclohexanol: SNRI
5-HT reuptake inhibition +++
NE reuptake inhibition ++
DA reuptake inhibition +
